We live in such an intentional universe. Everything that shows up is right on time and just what you need, and that includes the uncomfortable shit. Stacy Herera
Yesterday the International Women's Day celebrations continued in the Mt. Dor Community, a small community in the East of Trinidad and Tobago. One woman who eanted to make a contributuion to the IWD Celebrations, decided to bring the women of the community together, I was humbled to be invited, I was happy that someone wanted to have an event in the community to celebrate women.
As I drove up the hill, I asked a man on the road for the directions to the community center, the man gave me the directions and he said to me "ask if you can park in the school it will be safer" Hmm I thought this will be interesting.
I did not park in the school. I parked on the road, walked down the hill to the center as I l walked in women were cooking in the kitchen and the food was smelling soooo good!
I walked in the hall and waited for the event to begin.
I wanted to show them that I was here with them, not separated by any fear. Maybe this was stupid, time alone would tell.
During the event I came outside to check on the car, one young man said to me, I see you are checking on the car, don't you worry you are safe, we got you!
Guess it wasn't that stupid after all.
The woman who gave her story on the night was just a testament to the strength and resilience in each and every one of us. Living to take care of her children, honoring her purpose despite the naysayers
Getting over physical and mental abuse.
I pray for a day when our stories do not include this!
As the celebration ended another brother escorted me to my car and wished me safe travels.
Going out to communities is what I love to do. I was reminded of that yesterday and it was right on time, as with everything in the Universe.
