Do You Use Affirmations?

Affirm: I change who I am first and watch how everything in my life changes for the better. It all starts with me. How I think, how I feel about myself, and how I use my time. Taking responsibility for my action and behavior only helps me become the best that I can be. Idil Ahmed

Do you use affirmations? Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts.

Confessions on the Journey -I was not a fan of affirmations at all. It's funny when we believe life is going well and everything is lined up we move along in a certain type of way. Then when shit hits the fan we look for everything available to take us out of the muck and mire.

And that was exactly my introduction to affirmations. I was literally at a point in life where I was willing to do new things to start feeling better. I decided to write my own affirmations and say them out loud on a daily basis.

When I began, it felt as if I was lying to myself. The rational brain at work telling me well this is not exactly the case honey! It took time for me to rewire my thinking to let myself know what this is a statement to challenge the old patterns and thoughts that overtook me and helped in making poor decisions.

When the self sabotaging thought surface, I speak to it with an affirmation. I saw it until the self sabotaging thought subsides. Automatically now when it comes up the affirmation appears and they do a dance in my brain. The affirmation usually wins!

Using affirmations have really helped me along the Journey in rewiring my brain and my approach to situations.

Some of my favourites are:

1. All is well and so am I

2. I am never alone

3. I am worthy of abundance

4. The more I love my body the healthier I feel

5. I bring only the best thoughts to this day

6. I release all tension, I release all fear, I release all guilt

What are some of your affirmations?
