Your Hosts:
Akosua Dardaine-Edwards is an author, gender specialist, world traveler and speaker. She spent her early years in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago but has been travelling throughout the world over the last ten years learning and sharing with women entrepreneurs and young aspiring women business owners and trail blazers. Akosua is the author of "What Did I learn today? Lessons on the Journey to Unconditional Love"

Kaylan Bartholomew is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who incorporates her training as a Hatha Yoga instructor to help her clients transform their bodies and their minds. She helps people to release the unhealthy habits, thoughts and beliefs that lead to overwhelm, fatigue and emotional eating. This allows her clients to stay consistent with a healthy lifestyle, lose weight sustainably, boost their energy and feel balanced.

You will join a women’s sacred circle for opening, expressing, releasing, sharing, discovering and unveiling.  In a spectacular serene location, you will journey closer to a place of self-discovery with beauty and nature as the backdrop.  We set out on a transformative creative path through meditation, yoga and self-exploration writing and prompts. Be prepared to do the work

Please join Busboys and Poets Books as we welcome author Akosua Dardaine Edwards - Author. Speaker to our 14th and V location.

Akosua Dardaine Edwards has won awards for Social Entrepreneur of the Year in Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean Female Social Entrepreneur of the Year from the Global Innovation Partners. As a gender and entrepreneurship specialist, Akosua is the founder of the Enabling Enterprise Project. It collaborates with women’s business support agencies, policy makers and women entrepreneurs worldwide. The program focuses on enhancement, empowerment, exchange of ideas and experience, and best practices for women’s enterprise and entrepreneurship.
Akosua has travelled throughout countries such as Tanzania, India, Grenada, Kenya, Uganda. St Vincent and the Grenadines, Columbia and Trinidad and Tobago working with women and youth entrepreneurs. Being on the ground in communities to see first-hand the impact of the beauty of the human spirit is what drove her to begin working in rural communities and developing countries. With great joy, she looks forward to learning from each experience and connecting with those she meets during her travels.

A live, one day, simulcast global event that enhances the visibility and importance of Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) and encourages ongoing global discussions and actions.

Our Mission
Bridging the intersectionality of doing business as women and bringing to the forefront discussions/resolutions regarding economic empowerment among women & allies of all backgrounds.

Empower Women is a project of UN Women that began in 2013. Roxana Damas is one of the selected 2016/2017 Champions for Change to promote the EW platform. The WEELive Event is a campaign designed by Roxana Damas as her championship for the UN Empower Women Project. She has joined forces with coordinating partners from her consulting firm Diversity RD Global, Maica Gil of Heroikka and Galvanize to launch this women's economic empowerment global campaign.

uSTART is 2 years old and as the name suggests, empowers persons to put into action their entrepreneurial dreams and aspirations. It is also unique in that, it currently operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  uSTART is a distinct and highly flexible combination of business development processes, infrastructure and people, designed to accelerate the development of start-up and fledgling companies of students, staff and alumni, by helping them to survive and grow through the difficult and vulnerable early stages of development.
